Just a fun little lemur friend hangin’ out.

After doing a full month of art using watercolour & coloured pencils during Peachtober 2020 (what now constitutes my second book, The Found Book of Losst !), I barely touched the combination for half a year.

I don’t know what made me want to revisit it, but when I did it was with the intention to loosen up my work and explore new palettes. I started with blobby underpainting and laid in the details with the pencils afterwards.

Compared to the struggle I had when first exploring these mediums, this felt so natural. I ended up loving the result so much that I’ve used this Sifaka as a benchmark for most of my contemporary work. It’s also the reason I’ve now moved away from ink in favour of my Prismacolor pencils!
