While on my solo backpacking trip through Mexico, I went to ZOOMAT, a zoo located in a nature reserve in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.

They had an incredibly diverse array of their local fauna, particularly birds. I used the opportunity to learn as much about their wildlife as possible and painted many of the birds afterwards.

Based on popular request, I’ve made some of the birds into greeting card designs and vinyl stickers.
