Between 2016-2017, I was still mostly focusing on my printmaking and linocut. My dabbling in illustration and travel sketching was experimental. I was mostly using watercolour pencils and micron pens, practicing how to capture colour and form, but I still strongly preferred working in black and white.
My 2017 visit to the UK ended up becoming a turning point, however. I was loitering in an art supply shop, and (unwisely for my budget at that point) indulged in a dip-nib pen, a bottle of ink, and a set of Winsor & Newton watercolour pans on sale. It was instant love. After a lifetime of searching, the saga to find my medium had finally concluded.
